2012 Upgrade to 2015 DB Issue

Hi Gurus,

            I have encountered an upgrade issue from 2012 (SQL Express backend) Vision App to 2015 (SQL Backend).  I was wondering if anyone can point me a correct upgrade path or how-to.

            Issue:

                     New 2015 ASG-RD application can't connect to the "old" SQL DB for testing or migration.

             Environment:

                      All of our servers are running 2012 R2 AWS Instance.  SQL Express is behind AWS RDS instance.
