Is it possible to send custom keyboard commands to the remote host while in full-screen, windowed or tabbed mode?

I have a few lab machines that use imaging software to "lock" the hard drive so that when it is restarted it reverts to a clean state. Accessing this program requires pressing a particular key combination and I was wondering if it were possible to do with vRD?
