ASG RD 2016 - Log off issues
#1
Hi there,

I'm using 9.0.5223.0, I've noticed that the log off from all my connected session / log of from all session doesn't appear to work as expected.

We rely on this heavily for a security product, so we use cred delegation and then ASG to allow users to connect to servers without them having access to passwords. The problem is we are rotating passwords aggressively and any sessions left disconnected lead to account lockouts.

The log off in ASG only appears to log off the first session it finds then disconnects the rest. Can someone investigate this and provide some options?

Log off sessions is only possible if the user sessions can be queried - so if you can see the sessions by "Refresh session informations" the program should also be able to log off these sessions...

Can you confirm what you mean and where this is set?

Goto any connection - right click and choose "Refresh sessions" - if you see the sessions as sub items of the connection the sessions can be queried - this functionality is also used to get the sessions if you choose "Log off all" - because there is no command "log of all" for a computer - we first need the session information and then we can log off these sessions...

Thanks for the information. under connections "Overview", I see the following options;

Log off all my active connections from connected computers

Log off sessions from connected computers

Can you confirm the difference? if we then do the refresh as suggested, that will then carry out a signout / log off from all sessions? i.e. not leave anything disconnected?

Can a feature be implemented to auto poll this session data and to make sure that the list is up to date?

if you use "log off" the program tries to query all sessions of the computer - but if no sessions can be queried the log off won't work

I just want to tell you that you can try on a connection object in the navigation tree view to see if you can query the session information... if not (this can have several reasons - just search the forum) it won't work...

Thanks, so sorry for clarity. Is there a definitive way to guarantee this will work?

You can test it - how should I give you any guarantee? I can tell you how it is working - you need to test it...

I think something is lost in translation here. What I'm looking for is concise support steps. As the support team for the product, that's the least I would expect.

This looks like a bug, so I'm looking for accurate steps on how to address the problem. Does that make sense?

Ok - so did you try "Refresh sessions" as I told you? Do you get the session informations for your connections? If yes Log off all should work? Or is not working? You always asking only for any guarantee - yes the feature is tested but it only works if the sessions can be queried...
