muliple Users connecting to same environment

Hi

is it possible to configure ASG to allow for 1 master file (list of RDP connections) to whichh the whole team can connect but only 1 person has access to update? we have an SQL server configured already so could add ASG to this if required?

Yes sure - if you use a database environment you can add users with read only access only...

Many thanks for the quick response.

could you advise how i set this up from scratch using an Microsoft SQL 2012 environment as im not experienced with SQL at all.

Just open the Environment Manager - New Database Environment - the wizard should guide you through the necessary steps (else you find some documentation in the online help).

Afterwards you can goto Settings=>Permissions and activate the permissons - then you need to create security groups and assign your users - define your security on object level - if everybody else the admin should have read only goto the root objects add the security groups and select only Read-Access

Just try it - it's easy to use

Press F1 in the application-can you tell what does not work? Or where do you have problems?

When we have created the database where do we create users? When trying to sign into the environment for the first time the username and password does not work. Where do we setup read only and admin rights?

Everything is described in the online help - just read the section "Working with environment => Working in database mode"

If you can't login you can't do anything...

So you created the database with Environment Manager => New database - and then you can't login with the user you just created the database? Or with other users? Do the users have rights to access the database?
