Transfer personal data/profile from one domain to another, possible?
#1
Hi Smile

Could be me that are terrible to look into documentation/forum.
Cause I'm pretty sure I have read about this some years back.

With the new possibility to use authentication with untrusted domains.
We plan to move from using our corporate AD to our management AD for ASG-RD.

Is there a way to transfer personal data/profile from one domain to another for our users?
Or do they have to recreate all personal credentials/mappings manually?

Hi,

currently there is only way to do this - each user has to switch the logon method first to "Username/Password" - and then again switch back to AD-Authentication with the new "Untrusted Domain" - then all user data will be migrated.

Hmm, I just tried to do this with my user against our QA database.

And after converting my user to a Username/Password user.
I seem to have lost all access to the DB and just get permission denied when trying to connect.

Does this function not inherit security groups from the old user? Do I have to manually add their internal user to the same security groups temporarely when they convert?
Guess this info was in the warning when switching logon methods, but as that warning/info box was cut after:

"Please check the security assignments of the new user if you have
'Permissions activated'. (this sentence is cut mid text, making be believe it has more info below it)

Yes - perhaps we should fix that if users are assigned directly - but you also can assign AD-Groups to your Security Groups and so you always have to check if the new user still have access!

I will add a task on my ToDo-List for checking a direct assigned user who is changing the Logon Method! This user can be changed also in Security-Assignments...
