Putty sessions not connecting
#1
I am getting the following error after upgrading to ASGRD 2018 from Visionapp 2011 when I try to configure and connect to Putty sessions using SSH

Connection Failed: The negotiation of encryption algorithm is failed

I can connect using the Putty program in the ASGRD as well as the one in the putty folder, but from within the application I get the error.

Hi,

Can you please give us some more information HOW you try to connect and to what kind of server you use ?
How ist the connection specified that does not work in ASG-RD and when does it work ? Have you activated the role "SSH" using a putty defined connection ?
Best regards,
Michael

The connections are to Linux using SSH.
The connections work using Putty directly.
The connections worked when in Visionapp 2011.
The connections do not work in ASG-RD 2018, both imported from the previous version and deleting the connection and setting up as a completely new connection.

I have attached 4 photos of the configuration.  Two are of the configuration in ASG-RD and two are the Putty.

Thanks for your feedback and the screenshots. Can you give me some infos about the Linux Distro you use and the SSH Version ?
We need to reproduce your situation to be able to solve that "effect".

Thanks again !

Hi Tim,

I don't have access to a RedHat System but to CentOS7 that is basically the same afaik. I installed OpenSSH Server version 7.4p1 Release 16.e17 x86_64 , the same version as you use. I enabled the SSH service and could immediately login by ssh with ASG-RD using the same settings as your screenshot provides. It works without using a dedicated putty session and with it. There is no difference for me between a putty session standalone and integrated into ASG-RD. Did you create a new session for testing not using any imported sessions ? I don't understand that there is a difference in behaviour using putty standalone and integrated because it's always putty that will be feed by ASG-RD with some parameters ( credentials and port).

Yes, I created a completely new connection in ASG-RD, and was not able to connect using that one.  I may try completely uninstalling the ASG-RD product, and re-install.  Can you let me know which registry keys are written by ASG-RD?  I would like to remove those after the uninstall, so that the re-install is completely clean.

Also, please let me know the registry keys for the predecessor product by Visionapp.

Hi Tim,

It's just

Code:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ASG

and beneath you find another hive named as the version beginning with version 2015 onward. That's it. Please let us know if reinstalling had an effect somehow.
Best regards,
Michael
