ASG-RD ICA Protocols
#1
Hi All

I trust you are well?

I have installed ASG-RD at a client site and we have started testing the app in their environment.
We are able to make RDP connections to their internal servers, however we cannot connect using ICA protocol.

Can you explain the connection path the application utilizes when opening a ICA connection to a server.
I have attached some screenshots for you to look over.

Your most urgent assistance would be appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Valentino Diedericks

Hi

So what happens is when trying to connect via ICA protocol it brings back an error.
The error is error 269 and unknown error 0.

Can you assist in configuring the system to handle this type of connections.
If you are not available for a call or Skype can you please send me how to guide to configure this.

Thanks

To connect to a server through ICA that server needs to be a Citrix server. Only then the server will be listening on ports 1494 (ICA) & 2598 (Session Reliability).
Another prerequisite is having the client installed, which means that the x64 version of ASG RD will not be usable.

If those prerequisites are met, it should work like a charm.

Can you tell me more about your configuration? What server version do you use? I had a conversation with a Citrix specialist of my company and he told me that version 7 and above has changes in the architecture and it is not supported by Citrix to use the "Connect to desktop" function like in the past - so we are setting up a XenApp 6.5 server for testing with different ICA clients and will come back to you with the results...

Valentino one question:

I received the same error message as you when the "Destination" field is misconfigured or not complete. ( Connection Properties : Connection: Destination) Can you please verify that ? For testing you can put the IP in there. Does that work ?

Best regards,
Michael

Hi, I am using the latest version. My configuration is very default right now with all the firewall oports open and I am able to RDP into my other devices.
The software is running on Win10 as well.
