Putty embedded sessions open an external window
#1
Hi guys,

I'm wondering if anyone else came across this issue.

I have installed the newest version of ASG RD 2018 (v 11.0.6169.1) - new file database.

"Tab view" is selected, unfortunately every time when try to connect to switches or routers, the ASG opens a new tab but the putty window is opened separately (please see attached screenshot).

Hi,
I have selected "Tab view" and "autosize" and the window is visible for approximately a second then it will be resized , fitting in the tab. Could not retrace the window staying standalone.
Used the 64bit of Patch7.1 - same version as yours but in database mode...will test in file mode..but that should be no difference..
Best regards,
Michael

Thanks Michael.

I have a feeling there is another program/application which keeps causing it.

I googled it and some people are saying it worked when they disabled a "QuickConnect" option within TeamViewer, the problem is that I don't use TeamViewer on my PC...

By the way, I have Win10 Ent x64 installed.

Hmm would be interesting if the integration generally is problem on your system?
Can you create an external application with putty and try to run it directly by doubleclicking the ext. app ? Does it integrate into a tab then ?

Just see my screenshot:

Hi Michael,

I have tried that, when I double click on the Ext. Application it brings the Putty window where I typed the IP address of the appliance I would like to connect to (please see attached screenshot)

Have you activated the "integrate" option you see in my screenshot above ? Thats what I wanted to know. Integrate works with many programs but not with all. But many standard things integrate without problems like notepad.exe, cmd.exe, putty.exe and many more. If integrate is not working even if activated in the external app then I think you are right there must be something on your system that is preventing integration. Need to check with development if there is anything we can do about that. I'm testing with Win10 pro 64bit.. with ASG-RD running 64 or 32bit as well..
