Navigation sort order doesn't stick
#1
Sad
Using ASG-RD 2018 Patch 7

Overall, I love this package and think it's very smartly built.  I use a portable version stored in my Google Drive so it's available wherever I have access to me Google Drive.

I couldn't find any matching symptom in the Forums.

I have tried to arrange my folders in a consistent sort order in the Navigation panel, but they keep being rearranged randomly.  None of the Sort Alphabetically selections are on, yet my folders shift around from use to use.

It only seems to occur with folders that are at least fourth and lower on the list.  My top three folders never move.  This has been occurring for at least the last two versions.

I drag them to the order I want and they stick while the app is open.  Close the app and re-open and the sort order is messed up again.  They are never rearranged into the same order.

Connections within the folders are maintaining their desired order.

Also, it's not the use of this from different locations, like I want two different sort orders, as I always want the same order everywhere.

Just for your information...

I upgraded to ASGRD 2019 today and the folder order is still not retained.

We've been thru a few more version iterations and I still experience this issue.

I did find that if all folders are closed when I exit, the sort order remains largely correct with just a couple folders out of place.  If I exit with several folders open, things are all over the place when I restart and it takes a couple minutes dragging them back into place.

Currently at version 13.0.6721.1.

I tried some manual sorting - and everything is fine - just when a folder is set to "Sort Alphabetically" and I move there some subfolders - it will sort it again after Refresh / Restart - so did you check that all folders that rearrange their childs are set to "Sort manually" (not checked Automatically)

None of my folders are set to Sort Alphabetically.  I want complete control over their arrangement.

Don't know if this is important, but this is a Portable Version.

I think I found it - newly created items in FileMode do not save the state correctly - try to find a solution for the next patch...

Of fixed some issues regarding Sorting - and we found an issue that could be handled but perhaps it's not really needed - currently you can move objects by Drag & Drop - so it is possible to set a folder between two connections - but the sorting always sort first the Type of the Node and then alphabetically or by custom sequence. So a refresh/restart always set the folder back to the top of the items...

I think this is since the first days of the product and we won't like to change this - but of course we could add an option to do so - but I don't think that this is your issue, isn't it - just sorting of items from same type - and this should be fixed with next patch!

Correct, I am NOT trying to sort Folders between Connections, but simply to have Folders and Connections sorted in a particular sequence, respectively. Looking forward to the next update. Thanks!

Has this been fixed?  I can't imagine an RDP manager where I can NOT sort the list manually and have it stick.  Is there a fix yet?
