Local taskbar is always on the background
#1
I get used to using two monitors in the fullscreen mode in Windows 7.
But my computer had crashed up and my company gave me a new hard disk with Windows 10.

In my old system, my local taskbar was always upper that my virtual machines.
Currently, I cant setup settings like in the previous version of windows.
I mean that my local taskbar is always on the background.
It is very difficult for me because I use something like 6 virtual system at the same time.
I tried to find an answer in google, I have changed many options of settings, but I got nothing. Please, help. Sad

Hi,

Im not sure what you mean with "local taskbar" ? sounds like you talk about Windows10 and not ASG-RD ;-)
Please explain a bit more detailed which version of ASG-RD you're using and which taskbar you mean.
Best regards,
Michael

Hi Michael,

Thank you for your answer!

I mean that toolbar in my real physical machine is always hidden when I open RDC connection:

And this option is not working:

I tried to use ASG-Remote Desktop 2018 and ASG-Remote Desktop 2012.
It was worked in the windows 7, but currently not working in the windows 10.

Hi again and good morning :-)

Thanks for your screenshots...the first one is a bit small ;-) But now I know what you mean. Just tested it with version 2018p7.1 and 2019 and for me it works as ist should. If I check the option "Show local taskbar in Fullscreen" then exact that works and the taskbar of the local system remains visible on top. Could it be that this is a local setting on Win10 that the taskbar autohides ?. Because there are always 2 screens in your screenshot : do you use a multimonitor setup ?

best regards,
Michael

Good morning : )

For testing, I disabled "Use multi-monitor" option and it looks good:

But using two monitors in RDP connection is very important for me.

Actually, I know that this problem may be connected to the "Primary monitor" option, but I tried many combinations, and I didn't get a good one.
For example one of them give me this strange result (two monitors on the one window, but the local toolbar is hidden too):

Tested on:
2012 - 7.3.4144.0
2018 - 11.0.6064.1

I don't think so... Because it works correctly when only one monitor on use. But, anyway, thank you for the idea.

Thanks again for the infos !

Ok the first thing: you use 2018Patch5 (Patch7.1 was the latest 2018) - and even older 2012. But if there would be an issue we can only fix the latest and actual version of ASG-RD and thats 2019. Nevertheless I will try to help If possible ! So on my local system I also have a multimonitor setup..but using ASGRD 2018p7.1 only on one desktop. If I activate "use multimonitor" in RDP settings for a session I will get 2 cropped and compressed screens - makes no sense. So I assume you used the option to "span across all monitors" ? Then I also loose my local taskbar. But I'm not sure if that is "by design" by the RDP-control we use, because the option is "Span across all.." . Have to collect more infos about that and we will get back to you .

Michael,

Very sadly at this point. The version 2012 with Windows 7 works perfectly, but the newer version with the newer OS works with this defect. You are right, I use "Span across all.." settings.
Currently, I don't know when my company will buy the 2019 version. : ( But if I will be sure that it work by the way as I needed I hope that I will be able to initiate the buying process inside in the company.

By the way, downloading links at topic are not working.

Thank you very much for helping, please let me know about any news.
