Error on initializing the desktop
#1
I am getting the error "error on initializing the desktop"

The error occurs with the ASG-Remote Desktop version 2019 (12.0.6279.1).
In version 2017 (10.1.5713.0) the error does not occur.

The latest version has been installed. The connection to the base has not changed, nothing has changed except the software version.

Please help.

Can you work afterwards with ASGRD? Then you can try to reset the user layout - Tools=>Reset Layout

Else you can call ASGRD.EXE /resetlayout

If that doesn't help - please post the details of the error log...

The following step-by-step actions that I make.
1. I log in to the application with a domain account (windows account).
2. The license expires message appears. I click "Yes"
3. I am importing a new valid license
4. I get a window with an error: "Error on initializing the desktop", I click "OK"
5. The window disappears. The application does not start.

ASGRD 2017 - works correctly.

I launched ASGRD 2019 locally with the evaluation license.

When importing a license, I have an error: "Error on verify the license data."
Is this a problem here?

Hi,

could you try to import the new license with ASG-RD 2017 ? Because if you use a database the old license is in the "old" database right now and that could lead to a problem if you connect ASG-RD2019 to that database containing the old license. After importing with RD2017 close it and reopen ASG-RD2019. What happens ?

Best regards,
Michael
