Upgrade Path from Visionapp 2011 to ASG-RD 2019
#1
Hi,

we have currently Visionapp Remote Desktop 2011.
We want to upgrade to ASG-RD 2019.
The Objects (approx 200 Servers) are stored in Microsoft SQL-Database SQL-Server 2017.

Is there an path to export>import the objects from Visionapp 2011 to ASG-RD 2019?
And if so how can i do that?

Kind regards

Stefan

First you need to upgrade to version 2012 - install version 2012, start and upgrade - then you can install version 2019 - create a new database environment and choose "Environment=>Upgrade from 2012" and follow the steps in the wizard - your data will be read and transferred to the new environment.

Hi,
I have successfully upgraded vRD2011 to ASG-RD 2012, with database converted successfully and I was able to open ASG-RD 2012 to see all servers. But after I installed ASG-RD 2019 and launch it, this is what I see:
First, I see: There is no environment configured right now. Please add a new environment to start working.
Then I clicked OK and Environment Manager window opens, which is empty. I did see Active Environment populated when I upgrade from vRD2011 to ASG-RD 2012.
Then I click Add - Database.
If I choose Connect to an existing database, then I enter all credentials for ASG-RD 2012, I got Could not find stored procedure "ConnectionTest" error.
If I choose Create a new database, a new database is to be created without updating from ASG-RD 2012.

Could you tell what I have missed? Your help is really appreciated.

You need to create a new database first - and after that choose "Environment=>Upgrade from 2012" - follow the wizard, specify your old database and the data will be read and migrated to the new database...
