Access for new ASG user
#1
Hello there,

I am having issues trying to give a user access to ASG. We use ASG 2017 and I am just not sure what I am missing when trying to set this user up. When he tried to connect, he gets an error stating "Connection could not be established. A connection to your current environment could not be established. Please select another one"." The only way I can get this to work for him is to give him domain admin privileges which I am not supposed to do.

I have tried making him a dbowner of the ASG database, I referred to other users and gave him the same settings that other users were set up with. I am just trying to find out what I am missing, if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Thank you so much!

Please have a look in the Windows Application Event Log - perhaps we see some more info there - but If dbowner is not working and Domain-Admin is working it must be something like Firewall settings - the user itself I guess can't connect to the SQL server

Looks like we got it working! I went in and made this user a local admin on the SQL server and now he can connect with no issues.

Thanks so much for the info!
