how to recover admin/root password?
#1
Hi folks

Unfortunately we dont know the password of the admin or root user of ASG.
We need to recover this password to make changes to some AD groups withing ASG.
How can we recover the admin password?

We have access to the SQL DB, It would also work if I could give admin rights to my domain user.

I promise you that it is our own software (not any attempt to hack something!), I can also show you order informations if needed.

Many thanks in advanceĀ  Wink

We can't decrypt any passwords - but perhaps you only have the problem that you need another account in the Administrators group of ASGRD?

You can deactivate Permissions by SQL and if you enable it again you will be added automatically to the Administrators group.

DELETE FROM ItemProperties WHERE ItemId = '1BF121C1-EFC4-4851-9407-D652D3B7C5BF' and RolePropertyId = '2924F6D4-8AB0-4EA4-8FE7-1BB078EC86B7'

Hope that helps

Thanks for your answer!
Thats correct I only need to put my orĀ another domain user into the ASG administators group.
Your code should work, I made a SELECT query with this content and it gets a result.
Can I just run your code and then I am an admin of the ASG console with my domain user?

Thanks!

No - it just deactivate permissions - logon with your account afterwards - goto Settings=>Permissions and activate again - then you will be added to the Administrators group!

It worked perfectly, I'm now able to login again, great!
All I want to do is to set new AD Groups in ASG Console, where ASG-Admins and ASG-Operators are included.
But these settings are greyed out?
Am I looking at the wrong place?
