Upgraded from 2017 to 2019 - no connections/folders show "Credentials" option in menu
#1
I installed ASG 2019

Prior to doing that, I did a FULL export from 2017 (*.rde)

After installing 2019, I did a full import. My credentials are all there under the Credentials folder.  The problem is that all my saved connections no longer even have the option for me to assign credentials to them.

Normally I do this on a folder basis, sometimes a per-connection basis.  The meu when I right-click and go to properties is now completely missing the credentials area.

I played with switching between environment password and personal password just to see if that makes any difference but it didn't. Not sure what I did wrong.

I also tried deleting the standard environment and created a new one and did a fresh import.  I imported both ways test as well (full overwrite, and sync)

I installed using a "file" (not database)

What did I do wrong, how do I re-install 2019 with support for each site or folder having specific credentials assigned?

Hi sorry to hear that you have probs with the settings.
The normal way would be to just "upgrade" by installing 2019 on the system where your old installation is. So the settings would have been upgraded. Importing settings from a too old version could be problematic but 2017 to 19 should work as far as I know. So please right click on the Connection-tree root, select Folder Properties and check the "roles" setting: "Credentials" should be activated ! If you have subfolders please check there too.
Does that help ?
Best regards,
Michael

Thanks Michael, this is what fixed it:

"So please right click on the Connection-tree root, select Folder Properties and check the "roles" setting: "Credentials" should be activated"

The Credentials checkbox wasn't enabled, I enabled that and all the other roles that then showed up (RDP, VNC, etc) and looks like I'm good now.
