ASG 2019 - Parameters & arguments
#1
Hello.

I'm trying to create a default url path for many hosts and in the "url field" i put http://%Destination%/... and then try to connect with protocol http, the tab opens and fails on url http://%Destination%/
I have the same problem when using external apps, I don't get the paramters from the other fields.

I'm using ASG2019 patch 3.

Can someone please refer to where I find the information for argument/parameter variables?
Or post them here ? Smile

To use the parameters in an external application you shopuld create your ext. app. and then right click on your connection => Ext. Application => choose your ext app - then the External App will be combined with the parameters from your connection

In the online help it should be described how to use arguments/parameters...

Hi and thank you for answering.

I found the arguments in the Online Help.
However I tried to open VNC+ and FireFox with the %ComputerName% argument via External App. the application don't get the argument, both applications opens and starts with standard settings.

Also I'm wondering if it's possible to get arguments working for the normal connection properties ?

If I fill out under Connection properties - Connection
Destination = computer1.domain.com
and
Url = http://%ComputerName%:port1 will it transform to http://computer1.domain.com:port1 ?

Arguments inside a connection is not supported - like your example of using Destination in Url field - I will ad it to the feature list and think about it...

What is not working with Arguments in Ext.App.? How did you configure it? Try notepad.exe %Computername% as external app - then select a connection, right click and choose in the context menu from Ext.App=>notepad

My bad, I did not set it up correct, both notepad, vnc+ and firefox working as intended. Thank you for the help.  :D
