Add administrator
#1
Sorry for my lack of knowledge. Our previous administrator left the company and I cannot figure out how to add a new admin to ASG Remote Desktop.

I am an admin and i can see the list of administrators, but if i try to add an account from AD, it only allows me to select users from my local machine, not from AD. Can anyone help?

I'm not sure what exactly you trying to do - but if your client is not joined to a domain this will be the first result - goto Settings=>Domains and add there the domains you want to browse

All administrators (including myself) use domain accounts to login but there are no domains listed in Settings | Domains.
The administrators group in ASG RemoteDesktop is a local group that contains domain accounts and I cannot find a way to add another domain account to that group.

I asked you if your computer is also joined to a domain? Not if you login with domain account…

And you should add Domains that you want to see in Settings - if you have full trust relationship the domains will shown by default - if not you need to add them manually

My client is domain joined.
I am reluctant to make changes to the environment as everything is working for everyone who uses it and I don't want to break anything, all i want to do is add another employee to the local administrators group.
Is there any other information I can provide that would be helpful?

Please add the domain info in the settings - that's the easiest way - I don't know why other domains are not listed in your program but it will have no impact to any functionality - just the "Browse ActiveDirectory" dialog

Thank you for the reassurance that making that change would have no negative impact.
I followed your advice and was able to add the employee - Thank You!
