AD import to only select servers
#1
Hi

I wondered if there is a way to import only servers from AD import.
Usually we have both clients and Servers in a domain and when i want to import server object in to ASG, there is no option to choose if i only wants to import servers or clients.

Maybe something to add for new features?

Both (servers and clients) are computer objects in ActiveDirectory - so how should we distinguish the types?

it is possible to sort them out by operationg system name.

usually all servers is called something like windows server xxx and clients something like windows 7 / 8 etc..

Perhaps that will work?

Could you perhaps target a specific OU or tree?  Unless, of course, your OU has both workstations and servers in it.

yes, i can, but we have many customers with many domain structure. it takes time to find all servers in each domain.
Also every server is on different OU because of different use so they can have different GPO etc etc.. Long story, but it would be much easier to just have a checkbox to only import server objects.

Btw, thank you DevOma for fixing it. looking forward to test new feture in new release.

Goto any object => Properties - there you find the option "Private" and "Public"
