Database on SQL server
#1
Hello together,

is it possible, to connect to ONE environment on a SQL server with different Windows users?

If have tryed to configure this, but I'm very frustraded to get everytime a differrent environment, when I connect to the database with a different Windows user.

Would be great, when anybody can help me.

Of course this is possible - what do you mean with "different environments"? You can choose your environment and if it is pointing to the right database only this environment will be shown?!? But every user has a userId and this is used to personlize your "view" into the environment - else you couldn't be able to work with permissions inside one environment…

So currently I do not really understand what do you mean with "get everytime a different environment"???

Hey, thanks for your answer.

Okay for example: I'm connected with my Windows credentialls (itegrated Windows-login) with the database, import data, so I have a big environment with every user and connection.

After that: I connect with another Windows user with the database and I can't see anything of my imported connections...

Ok - in a database environment you can choose between "private" and "public" objects - private objects can only be seen by the creator - so if you create a private folder and import your connections there, all sub objects will be also private!

Try to create a public folder and import your connections! Same for all other stuff like Credentials, Applications, ...!

How is it possible to create a public folder? When I'm connected to the database, I just can creat a "folder", but I cannot mark it as "public"..

And is it possible to import everything of my private environment to the environment on the database and mark it as "public", so that everybody, who is connected with the database cans ee this environment.
