Some offline mode questions
#1
Hi
We recently had a network issue which caused the DB to be unreachable. When this happened some of us were able to continue working offline, these people got this message :

https://prnt.sc/u1emop

However, some others could not open ASGRD at all getting this message:

https://prnt.sc/u1emzb

So here are my questions :
1. Which option is the one that offers offline data and how do I make sure I have an offline copy? or, if I want, how do I make sure there IS NO offline data saved?
2. How are things saved offline? Are passwords saved on my local machine? Are they encrypted?
3. Is there a way to deploy options like saving offline data to all clients using ASGRD in my network? Can I centrally manage the clients somehow?

Hi,

in Settings=>Application you can enable "Automatically save offline data when ending app..." - so if enabled each time you close ASGRD the offline file will be written to your local machine - of course the file is encrypted! It contains the data that the user can see inside ASGRD...

You can set these options in a database environment for all users - but users can override these settings (or you need to restrict permissions so users are not able to edit these settings anymore)

Hi,

Thanks for the answer. Can you explain : "You can set these options in a database environment for all users".

How do we do this?

It's the same for all properties you can manage inside ASGRD - you can use the "3 buttons - Default / Inherit / Personal" - if you set values in Default category these values are for all users - until the user switch to Inherit or Personal values - that can be prevent by some permissions settings (do not allow to use personal settings)
