Password protection removed after first import of .rde File
#1
Hello

I made an export as .rde File with password protection.

When I import this file for the first time, I have to enter the password.
If me or another user imports the file again there is no passwort promp, it gets imported directly.

I see, that the .rde file gets modified and increased in size (from 2.8 MB to 3.5 MB)

Tested with ASG 2020 x64 6667.1 and 6768.1

How to solve this issue?

Thx

Hi and thanks for your comment !

I could retrace the effect and right now I'm not sure if thats intended by design because the export is not primarely made for distribution of data. The password protected export is encrypted and on import it will be decrypted. Thats why its size increases and the protection is "gone". Distribution of data is done by usinge a database environment..so import is normally only a one-time job.
I will discuss with development - feddback follows ;-)

Michael

Hello Michael

Thank you for the quick response.

In ASG 2019 and before it stayed protected.
We always made the distribution per file on disk and each user imported it.

Ok issue is fixed - it only occurs when not all root items selected in export to rde-file! So perhaps a workaround until the next patch to include the root items also in export file :-)

Hello Oliver

Thank you for the workaround.
I just made a new export with all items, all good now.
