RDE Import not identical to Master PC
#1
Hi, I used the software for several years only on one Windows 10 PC ... no I have a second device (Laptop) and I only make changes on the PC. Some weeks ago I created a rde backup and imported it for the first time on the Laptop ... no problems ...now after some weeks and changes I did another rde backup and imported it again with the default settings but unfortunately some connections which I deleted on the PC still exist after the import ... how can do an import which will be identical to 100% to the PC?

Is there a way no script this procedure?

Thanks!

Hi

the export/import is not the same as backup/restore - if you need a backup, then you can just copy your settings-file to a backup place - or in database mode use MSSQL Management Studio to backup the database.

When you import a rde-file no data of your environment will be deleted first - so yes there could be differences between old and new datasource.

Thanks. Now I copied the settings.xml file to laptop but when I start ASG it says: "Ungültige Verschlüsselung von Kennwörtern" and I can`t use any credentials ... this is obviously due to the password encryption ... do I have to switch the encryption method from "Windows Benutzerkonto" to "Umgebungskennwort" or "Persönliches Kennwort"? Thansk!

Ok - you need for both environments the same encryption - if both computers are domain joined it should be ok to use Windows Account - else you have to choose one of the other options and use the same password - you should create a new environment, select your file and choose the right encryption

Or you need to delete all entries from navigation first before you import your rde-file
