Lost Configuration
#1
Hello,

Current version = 13.0.688.1

This has been happening for a Very Long time.  I'm just now frustrated enough to post a thread to see if there's a fix.

I'll add multiple new credentials and/or connections.  Then at some point, twice or so weekly, ASG stops responding and I have to kill the task.  When I reopen ASG, the credentials/connections are missing.

I'm using a SQL environment.  Are these configuration changes not saved immediately when I add them?  There is no Save button, so I would assume auto-saving would be a given.

Thanks,
Terry

Really? SQL statements are always executed immediately - so I can't understand why a kill of the application should affect any data - I just tried myself - add a connection - press ok and then kill the task - but after restart the data is still there - I can also see in SQL Management Studio - after pressing OK in any dialog the SQL statements save the data.

Really can't reproduce and also can't believe - in SQL environment all changes are saved directly without any transactions (only for huge operations like import we use transaction blocks)

I can accept the fact that you cannot reproduce the problem. But not the "can't believe". And I do know how SQL works. I manage over 300 servers, with around 50-60 of those being SQL. I've been doing this for almost 26 years.

Anyway, if anyone else has any ideas, please let me know.

Thanks,
Terry

Did you try a simple a test - just create a connection and kill the ASGRD process afterwards - restart it - is the data saved or not? You also can run a SQL Profiler to see if statements are executed directly... and in my environment it is - that's why I do not understand how this can happen - we always try to find a solution for any problem!
