Properties for Inherited Values not saving
#1
I seem to keep having this issue. On a folder I'll the Credentials set to a user so that pushes to all the connections in that folder. But within that folder I might have one or two connections where I don't want to that to inherit, so I go into properties, select default values and either select a different login or leave it at none. Everything is fine and great until I close ASG and then reopen it and its changed back to inherited. It's like it doesn't save the change. It's the same with other settings that I might fine tune to that one connection with in the folder.

Sorry, latest version 13.0.6888.1, but I know it has happened in at least the last version too.

I'll also add, most of these connections were created by just doing a copy and paste of a connection already in the folder and then editing the name and destination.

Ok I will check that...

I tried 10 or more time in different ways - never had this issue - select a connection - copy via context menu or using keyboard shortcuts - select the above folder and paste into it - then open properties, switch to credentials - click on Default Values - then no difference if I choose some other credentials or leave it empty - if I click OK this setting is saved and after restart still is active - depending on what I did before "Data exists" or "Not defined" is displayed in category "Default Values"

Odd, I have two connections I can't get saved.

Here what it starts at:

I'm selecting Default Values, leaving it at Data exists and selecting different Credentials:

Will save that session, but if I close and reopen goes back to:

Also when trying to do a multi edit on two connections this doesn't save at all even in the same session:

For MultiEdit - just try to check "Set usage and select 'Default' - this should not only save the values it should also set the used values (in this case 'Default'

Just one more question - do you have a database or file to save the data? Just tried in database mode...

I am using just file, no database.

Following your steps for multi edit did work during that session but after closing and re opening they reset back to Inherited Values again.

I will check that in file mode - but currently everybody is on vacation...

Or do you loose perhaps every change? Did you have log entries? Perhaps you are using a profile that is synced and overwrite every time your changes? Perhaps you should check your "Last Updated date/time" of your settings-file to ensure that it is not overwritten every time...

The file isn't getting overwritten because I can add new connections and they save and stay. It seems to only be this setting on some on the connections. I'll enable logging again and see if that info gets saved.

We will check that in detail in the new year - currently nearly all are on vacation...

I tried again - in file mode - did so many different steps - but can't reproduce

You told that the problem occurs only on 2 connection objects? Perhaps it would be easier to delete and recreate these 2 connections? I don't know how I could get the same effect and so I can't fix it...
