Hello,
we have a Problem with ASG. At the moment we have some Servers which are not in a Domain and when i connect to these servers via ASG then it is not possible for me to schedule an unattended task. When i try to create the unnattended task a credential dialog pops up, when i enter the credentials the dialog freezes.
I tried to connect to the servers via mstsc.exe and there the problem does not happen. Whats the difference between those two things i thought ASG uses the mstsc.exe to connect via RDP.
Can you please help me fix this issue, thank you
Oliver

Hi Oliver,
You mean creating a task with task scheduler ? Because the dialogue is not from ASG-RD then. We actually use the same ActiveX system component that mstsc.exe is also using. Which version do you actually use ?
best regards,
Michael

Yes i mean creating tasks in task scheduler. But the Problem also occurs while using Powershell, i enter "Get-Credential" in powershell then entering Password and Powershell freezes. When i do the same using a regular mstsc.exe RDP connection then this does not happen. At the moment we are using ASG-RD 2020 Version 13.0.6888.1 i also tried older Versions like 2019 but the Problem is the same.
best regards,
Oliver

You should try to disable some of the RDP connection properties and see if something helps - I read an article that enabling "Remote sound" could freeze some windows in remote sessions - give it a try to disable or enable some options - should be something really special...

Hello and thank you for the hint.
the only option which was activ at our ASG was the clipboard, as i deactivatet it the Problem was gone. Question is now, is there an option to activate the Clipboard and avoid the Problem? In mstsc.exe the Clipboard is active and the Problem also does not accoure.
kind regards
Oliver

As you are the first who reports this issue (and we can't reproduce it) - we simply do not know - I was also just guessing - some areas of mstsc.exe are like a black box - you can save your rdp connection within mstsc and import it back to ASGRD - perhaps there are some other options that might help... or you just try to add some other options including the clipboard option!
