Notes/Comment Field
#1
Hello,

Would it be possible to add a notes/comment filed, separate from the Description field? The description field in connection property is great however it will get overwritten with VMWare annotation data.

Not sure of any other free text filed nor am I sure how to leverage any of the "Custom 1"-3 fields shown under column chooser in Navigation.

Goto Settings=>Environment=>Custom Fields and set a name for a field - then it will appear in Connection Settings and you can use it for any additional data!

Thanks again Oliver! This seems to work for my purpose!

By the way, in the process of buying more licenses. ;-)

Thanks for all the support and quick responses.

Correction. It did work and allowed for free text HOWEVER once I did a resync to update list with new server builds, all the data in Custom Field 1 (labeled Notes) reset to blank.

Could you please add some option for free text for a connection where the data will not be reset on resync?

It seems to be a bug - all fields were updated in ESX-Sync - no matter if the custom field was assigned with ESX-Field or not - will be fixed with next Patch!

Thank you. Looking forward for it Wink

2021 Patch 9 did included the fix as mentioned.

ESX-Sync - Custom Fields that are not assigned to any ESX-Field will be ignored on sync instead of setting empty

Tested it with Connection Custom 1 field and so far so good. Data was not reset to blank after a sync!

Thank you all so much!
