Microsoft OS's now read the connection attempt with a password credential as if it was a stored password. So we cannot use the credential in the connection attempt without copying and pasting the password in the popup login box. Can you guys give an option to auto-type username and password when connecting once the popup login box appears?
I can see the issue of what credential to use for this and I would create a new tab on the connection properties called Auto-type. On this tab presents an option or selection required in the connection properties where we have to define which credential to use for this feature on that connection, if blank, option not visible in right-click menu. If populated in personal tab, priority of personal over default tab value should be used.
KeePass has a great method of auto-type, each character or group of characters are handled individually and either use a copy/paste method or keystroke command to enter the data in the fields. This typically defeats keylogger malware and might be a good feature to duplicate in this request. Although I would be happy with just the ability to right-click > Connect by Auto-Type.
