Update ASG RD from v2020 patch 3 to latest version possible?
#1
Dear support,

We currently have ASG RD version 2020 patch 3 running, but we are looking into updating it to the latest version (v2024).
We use ASG RD with a central database.
Could you please advise if we can do the update in one move or if we should better update to the major versions in between?
We have a valid license.

Thanks in advance for your reply.
Kind regards,
Thirza

You can install the version side by side - as you have to run database scripts you should backup your database before - you can also copy your database if you want users to work with old version - after database migration only 2024 version can access the database

As it is more than 1 version between - you need to add the connection to your 2020 database manually - just add database environment and specify your old database settings - when you connect first time database wizard will guide you through the upgrade

BTW: We will release Patch7 (hopefully tomorrow) - it has a bug fixed in database migration - scripts were not executed correctly if there was more than 1 (database upgrade) step - perhaps you can wait - else you will need to run the scripts manually

Thanks a lot!
Will try it to solve some strange issues we currently have.
