Patch 3 - wrong scaling on first connect - scollbars visible
#1
With 2026 P3 I have the effect:

on first connect after launching the app the client scaling is wrong and scrollbars are visible

I then disconnect (not logoff!) and reconnect and then its good

Hi,

Is this happening every time or first time of client connection ? If its persistent please let us know, we will try to reproduce.
Thank You,

Can you give us some details of your config - which Skin settings do you use? As I can see status bar is hidden - correct? Do you use additional toolbars in Connection Control?

We got the same message yesterday from another customer - but currently are not able to reproduce...

Hi,

we are experiencing the same issue. The first RDP connection after application start seems to get the scaling wrong, it is either blurry or with scrollbars (depending on smart sizing). Reconnecting usually fixes this and it is only the first connection, so nothing serious, but still. I already tried resetting the layout to default.

Hi Team, we have the same issue, all config is default. I'm guessing by "which Skin" you mean the option you can select from the drop-down menu in the upper-right corner of RRD? There, we have "Vector" set to "Basic" and "General" set to "Default."
We’re running Windows 11 25H2 (OS Build 26200.8875) with RRD 2026 Patch 3.
The first RDP connection to a Windows system (regardless of OS version, whether client or server) is blurry; however, once you either reconnect or log out and log back in, the view becomes clear. See my attached screenshots for reference.
Scaling within the session is disabled, as is typical for RDP; all other RDP settings are at their default values.

What I’m going to try next is uninstalling RRD and testing Patch 2. We’re not sure right now whether this issue occurred with Patch 2.

Hi,

Under Connection Properties > RDP Role > Experience > Smart sizing is active or not ?
Thank You,

Hi Pavan,

yes, Smart Sizing is active.

BTW: I'm not experiencing this issue with Patch 2, so that confirms our assumption that it's only been glitchy since Patch 3.

Hello, We are having same issue. First connect is blurry and scaled odd. Drop connection and is fine after that.

the selected skin does not affect the effect of scrollbars at first connect Smile

I changed the optics to have a maximal canvas.. remove buttonbar at top, statusbar bottom and show/hide connection bar at left

Same here - we "jumped" from Patch 2 to 4, and I still haven't seen any blurry effect so far.
