2026 Patch3 Fresh install w/new DB
#1
Hello,
Recently got the OK to update our old ASG 2019 environment to a current version, I originally setup the original one (vRD2011inclPatch3) and migrated it to 2019 (vRD2019 v12.0.6261.1)
We use SQL servers, and they are handled by our DBA group, so I cannot poke at anything there, they provided a new DB to me (called RocketRD) and advised they mirrored the permissions of the old DB to the new one.
Ive asked if they can send me a screenshot of the permissions..still waiting for it.

It was discussed and decided we would not migrate the DB, we want to start fresh, with a new layout and fix lessons learned over the years.
Ive fired up a new Windows 11 VM to test the client side, after launching as Admin and entering the new environment (1st pic below) I get an error (2nd pic), Im guessing its a SQL permission issue? (which is why I asked the DBA for a screenshot)

Ive looked through the 'Working with Environments' and a few of the recent threads with Patch3 issues, but havent found anything related to my issue.
Anything different in setting up the DB environment in 2026 version ?
Thanks!

Hi,

So you are trying to add empty database, what option did you select in environment manager. Usual one is Create a new database( SQL server) and use an existing empty database in next dialog box

Let me know where you are having this issue exactly, what steps are followed ?
Thank You,
Pavan

Sorry for the delay
Initially I tried the 'Connect to an existing database', entering the environment name, DB server, DB name, etc
If I try 'Test Connection' I get this error message : Rocket Remote Desktop 2026 - Could not find stored procedure 'ConnectionTest'.

If I backstep and try 'Create a new database (SQL)' and pick 'use an existing empty database (user needs DBOWNER perms)'
On the next screen I pick our XML license file
I get a DB creation error mentioning FreeRDP DLL file:
Could not load file or assembly 'C:\Program Files\Rocket Remote Desktop 2026\FreeRDP\CloudAdminDataAccess.dll'. The system cannot find the file specified.
at System.Runtime.Loader.AssemblyLoadContext.LoadFromAssemblyPath(String assemblyPath)
at System.Reflection.Assembly.LoadFrom(String assemblyFile)
at CloudAdminDataAccess.ScriptExecuter.ParseSqlScript(String sqlScript, SqlConnection conn, SqlTransaction trans, BackgroundWorker bw)

That DLL file is not in the C:\Program Files\Rocket Remote Desktop 2026\FreeRDP\ location but I do see it in C:\Program Files\Rocket Remote Desktop 2026

EDIT: I was able to copy the DLL files to the FreeRDP folder and the install continued, Im now into RRD and setting up user perms, think Im good for a bit now...
