Hi,
as soon as I moved from mRemote to vRD I found there's no tab grouping.
Now I'm looking at possible workaround to this missing feature.
The easiest workaround is to configure the connection folder with a tab color, and set the connections to inherit the color from the parent.
This way I have the connections from each folder with the same tab color.
Since I have a lot of connection folders, it's not practical to select a different tab color for each folder manually. So I tried to use the "random tab color" setting at folder level, but this way will set each child connection with a different random color.
I think the way tab color is inherited from parent folder could be changed to fit this need.
My suggestion is to pick a random color for the parent folder when the first child connection is started, and then use this one for each connection belonging to the same parent folder.
As a side note: the way vRD chooses a random color for tab coloring seems to pick similar colors quite often, leading to contiguos tabs with similar colors. Internet Explorer uses a different algorithm and contiguos tabs have much more contrasting colors.
