Here is my case:
I have a Netgear ReadyNas to which I connect to the web front end using a set of credentials and by SSH using another set of credentials.
This is a typical example where I would like to see multiple protocols+credentials associations tied to a host, not just 1 of each all exclusive.
If a machine runs multiple services on different ports with different credentials, you don't have much choice than to create multiple connexions to the same host but with different protocols and/or credentials.
In clear, what I would wish is the ability to create protocols/credentials associations and attach as many as I want to a host.
Example: Attach these associations to a Windows Server...
VNC/itadmin
RDP/Administrator
HTTP (port 80)/admin
Ext. Apps (SQL Managment Studio)/sa
Ext. Apps (BackupExec Managment Client)/admin
HTTPS (443)/webadmin
HTTPS (8080)/admin
SSH/client
Telnet TLS/client
Also, when right clicking a connection, combine the "Connect with protocol..." and "Connect as...". Open a dialog box that would put both dropdown fields with their respective defaults and we change whichever we want to whatever we want and connect.
