I would like to be able to reference other fields in the connection properties, such as:

Creating a Web URL:

https://%ComputerName%:8445

Or better yet, a unique reference ID for each each connection that can be linked to other entries:

Computer name: %REFID:81431:DisplayName%

Where variable equals the Display Name from a specific connection entry that is dynamically updated whenever the field is changed.

In order to write enhanced external applications (currently thinking of a change request form that can be opened as an ext.app, already having all fields pre-filled so that the user just has to make the changes needed, as an example), would it be possible to address more DB fields via variables, just the way you can do it with i.e. %ComputerName%?

For the moment, the path being used for the tree structure in the connections view would help me a lot...
