Parsing password from external application
#1
Hi,

I'm trying to call an external application, to get the username/domain and password, and then parse them to VisionApp.

We are currently implementing CyberArk, and the RDP client is not as good as VisionApp.

So is it possible to parse variables to the VisionApp RDP connection?

Hi,

Did you ever get this working? We have exactly the same issue - we want VisionApp to retrieve the credentials from an external password vault. I already have working script-based interfaces to the vault API, so I just need to get VisionApp to call them.

We already use External Applications a lot, but I don't see how they can be used in reverse - to provide credentials back into VisionApp at the time of connection.

Thanks,

Matt.

No you only can use variables to parse credential information and use it for external app calls - but not in reverse.

I created a feature request for this back in 2009 (see here: http://forum.visionapp.de/showthread.php?tid=1648) but there was never a reply.

Please can you advise whether this will ever be considered for a new feature?
