Re-installation with current licence file
#1
Hi,

I have actually reinstalled my PC, and had re-installed the remote desktop app a few weeks ago.

Now I try to import my licence file, it tells me that I have passed the evaluation/support period and I can’t import the licence file.
Uninstalling/Reinstalling the product does not change anything.

Please help.

Regards,
Christophe.

Hi Christophe,

I'm sorry that you have trouble licensing our program. But we need some details about your license and the version you try to use. Normally if you use a version of ASG-RD that appeared on the market while you had subscripion you can use it with that license without limit. So have a look inside the license (*.xml) file for example with notepad or any other ascii editor and look for the lines:

<vMaintenanceStart>01.02.2012</vMaintenanceStart>
<vMaintenanceEnd>31.01.2013</vMaintenanceEnd>

Inbetween you see the subscription time ..thats one year beginning with the 1st day of the next month after your purchase. Could you give me these dates ? And aditionally the version of ASG-RD u use. If you want you can send me this information directly to my company mailadress :-)

Best regards,
Michael

Hi Michael,

Here are the dates :

<ContractDetails>
<vMaintenanceStart>01.02.2012</vMaintenanceStart>
<vMaintenanceEnd>31.01.2013</vMaintenanceEnd>
</ContractDetails>

The version I use is ASG-Remote Desktop 2012 (v7.3.4144.0)
It is written in the 'About' box 'no expiration date, but because I took too long keeping it installed without putting in the licence file, now I can't put it the licence file.

What should I do ?

Regards,
Christophe.

Hi Christophe,

Is it possible that you used a slightly older version before reinstalling ? because ASG RD 2012-P8 ( the version you now want to use) was released at around May 2013. Thats beyond your subscription-expiration date and thats why the license is rejected.
The comment ( Line 4 in the screenshot) "no expiration date" is meant for the version of ASG-RD you bought with it's corresponding license. But that doesn´t mean the same for any (newer) version. For this subscription is needed.
The relevant date in the "about" box is Line 5 in the attached screenshot. That shows the subscription period that is crucial regarding which version of ASG-RD you can use with it.

Best regards,
Michael

Before switching to the new machine, I was already using my current licence file with the same version :

(1) 7.3.4144.0
(2) me
(3) Limited to one Admin (+1 Year Subscription)
(4) No expiration date
(5) Your Subscription is valid until Thursday, January 31, 2013.

Thanks for your feedback Christophe !
It´s strange because normally if you install or update a newer version that appaered after your subscription-expiration, it shouldn´t accept the old license, or simply install in Trial mode. We have to check here what we can do and I get back to you by mail direct. I´m sure we find a solution :-)
