ASG is running as a published app in Citrix. If you are working in another app, Then you want to go back to ASG. If you click directly into the ssh session window the keyboard doesn't get focus so can't type in the session. One has to the program focus first, and then click inside the ssh window for the keyboard to be able to be used.. So to gain keybooard focus requires 2 mouse clicks on different parts of the app rather than directly into the ssh session. Sessions to windows servers don't exhibit this phenomenem. This causes a problem for users who are pasting into a window they think has keyboard focus when in actual fact it doesn't and they paste or type in the wrong window.

This seems similar / related to the multi monitor problem in Win 8.1 which I reported earlier about input that gets denied when moving the windows to another monitor.

Hello,
sorry to post in an old thread from 2015: but the issue is still present for me and colleagues.
OS: Win7/8/10
Citrix Reciever 4.1.2.3
ASG-RemoteDesktop 2016
Version: 9.0.5266.1
clicking in nested RDP session: focus correctly gained.
clicking in nested SSH session: focus is not correctly gained.
While not having any focus, the ASG window is brought on front for less than a second, and then immediatly hides behind the other active windows.
Apparently it's always necessary first to click on the "application bar" of ASG (or alt-tab into it), and then click in the nested SSH.
Another anomaly: if you right click into the nested SSH, it interacts (es: pasting text from the clipboard), but the focus is not gained.
Thank you for your work!
Francesco

What we have done to get around this is not run the sessions in Seamless Mode. If you specify a window size for the Cirix Session, then the focus works correctly. (This a work around as means all citrix sessions are now fixed to that windows size, so users fix the size, launch ASG, then put it back to seamless for the other apps to launch).
Only seamless mode doesn't get the focus. Yes, does seem to be worse in this version, in the 2015 in seamless mode, if you clicked in the ssh window at least the ASG app gained window focus, but you still had to click the application bar. But now does what you said your post.
FYI - We run Citrix Receiver 4.4
