program keeps open in background processes
#1
Hi,

ASG doesn't close when I close the program, it is removed from the tasklist under Apps, but a background process keeps running. If I open the program again and close it again a second background process keeps running.

In the end I end up with 10 or more background processes.

So the program doesn't close properly.

Please fix this asap as this is eating up memory on my computer.

Running Windows 8.1 x64 and ASG 2015 patch 5

I have ASG-RD installed on many machines and never had this problem - do you have any information that could help me to identify what causes these background processes? I tried automatic refresh of sessions, thumbnails, notification icon always, when minimized, ... but nothing caused a background thread after closing the program...

Hi DevOma,

I don't have to do anything special. just opening the program (i don't use sql backend) and closing it again, will spawn a background process. So it happens already when I don't open a RDP connection.

I have no clue what's causing this. If you are from ASG support Im willing to let you have a remote session to my computer to have a look.

I will check some code pieces and try to reproduce first...

I tried a lot of things today - and I noticed that if I use "Show notification icon = Minimized" that I run into the same problem - BUT perhaps Win8 specific (i have to check that) - if I click on the icon in the taskbar - the app minimize and the notification icon is shown (mostly hidden) . when I want to open the program again I click on the taskbar icon and another instance is opening - and so I get a lot of running apps... but not the same as in you screenshots with background processes - normally all background processes should end at latest if the work in that process has finished - we do not use any loops in these background processes...
