Upgrade to ASG2015 Remote Desktop Problem
#1
Hello,

we have migrate our version of ASG2012 Remote Desktop to ASG2015 Remote Desktop patch 8 .

To migrate the database SQL we have create a new database and use the option “Environment=>Upgrade from 2012”.

For my user no problem : the program run without error, but for the other user the test connection failed. (the type of user is active directory user)

Can you help me ?

Thank you for the collaboration

Hi,
first give me some infos about your setup: do you use security groups and have you made sure that the other user has sufficient rights to access the new dB ? Because the database has changed...make sure the "old" db-user that has been created for the old 2012 setup has access too.
Best regards,
Michael

Hi Michael,

i added active directory group in the database permission (with the same permission of my user) and now function for all.

My user (that create the database) have public and dbo permission , for the other user what kind of authorization can I give? (create , move and delete connection)

Thank you for the collaboration

Thanks for your feedback! I'm happy that access is working now. Normally if you create the db you do this with an "sa" user (sql admin) who can create the dB. Additionally you can define a dB-user in the following steps ("Access the database" after unchecking "use integrated authentication") that will be used for the connection to the dB regardless of the user of ASG-RD. This "access-user" must have sufficient rights ( db_owner) to change the dB so the "normal" user dont need special dB-rights then. Does that answer your question ?

Best regards,
Michael

In the online help there you can find a chapter that describes the necessary permissions "Necessary permissions on SQL server instance"
