Portable - cannot edit properties
#1
Using ASG RD 2015 P8 after creating portable version, cannot edit properties.

When right clicking a connection, select properties, the window opens as shown in image. Unable to edit.

Confirmed on several workstations.

No. Cannot do anything but close it.

I have reproduced this on three PCs. Unsure of what could be the common denominator. It could be that this portable version folder is stored in a Dropbox and synced? It is only open on one at a time, so shouldn't be a file lock.

Goto your folder of the portable Version - there should be a Profile.xml file - edit this file and look for "PropertiesWindow" - check if there are valid sizes for Width and Height

Or try to rename the Profile.xml file - then a new one should be created...

That was it. Last Height and last width were very low numbers.

What do you think is causing this?

Never seen this before :-)

Perhaps you are using a different Display configuration and with the first start of the portable there was a automatic resize - I don't know - hope that will not occur again!

Thanks for your help. While you are monitoring this thread, can you point me to directions on adding serial port connections? Seems I was able to do this in a previous version, but not now.

If you mean Serial Connections via Putty? Is described in the help

To use "Serial" as connection type you must use the prefix 'COM' in the destination field of your connection e.g. COM1.

Or something else? If you miss Connection properies goto "Roles" and add there roles to configure

Ah... It was COM vs Com. Got it.
