Windows 10 - Connection Could Not Be Established
#1
Exclamation
I have just purchased the upgrade to 2015 from version 2011.
Database is running on SQL Server 2008
Client is running on Windows 10 with all the latest patches
Installed Version 2012 - it runs fine and updated the database
Installed Version 2015 Patch 9 - Test Database connection in Environment Wizard works fine. However, when attempting to connect to the created connection I get the error "Connection Could Not Be Established"

I have shut down firewalls to see if that was it etc... 2012 is installed on the system and connects and runs fine.

I have added attachments showing connection test and resulting attempted connect error

Did you create a new database in Version 2015? You can't connect to the old one - you have to create a new 2015 DB and afterwards select File=>Upgrade from 2012

Hey,

Check permissions on database you need to have execute and connect permissions to be able to connect to it.
We had the samr problem, we had connect default but not execute
after this it worked.
