RDP Connection with different Port / Port redirection
#1
We've tried to connect Server with different RDP port than 3389(security by obscurity Cool )

Entering
Servername:12345 as Destination or
129.168.1.1:12345 as IP adress (both is working with mstsc.exe )
results in
"Connection failed, the computer name contains illegal characters".

How can we use RDP on Server with such port redirection?
Didn't find anything in Forum!?
Is this so abnormal?
Could you realise it with next patch (Using ASG-RD 2015 (v8.0.5091.0)?

Thanks
Harke

If you add the Role RDP you can configure the Port in RDP-Connection - it's the first field :-)

OK found it finally:
In Connection Properties, goto Roles, default Values and add RDP.
Now left appears RDP, down there click on Connection, again Default Values(!) and voila,
you can change the Port for RDP (only for this Connection !!)

so yes, easy, in the first field ;-)

Thanks for your Support and good Software!

If you want to change it for all connections you can use the Iherit function - just set on a folder level roles and port and use on all childs "Inherited values" - that's the default :-)
