Data source not supported
#1
I have recently installed ASG-RemoteDesktop 2015 on a new Windows 10 laptop. I installed the same version that I am currently running on my Windows 8.1 laptop. I am able to create connections to our databases and the connections test successfully. When I attempt to connect to a database I get the following message:

Data source not supported - The version of your data source is not supported with that version and can't be upgraded. Please us an older version.

Now when I launch the application I get the same message before getting the connection lists.

ASG-RD 2015 version: 8.0.4916.1 (on all systems connecting to central database)

Same problem here, but I don't get an error, it just returns to the environment manager. Connection test work fine.

@TNT_Banana: Are you sure you are connecting to the right database and using the same version - there were no database changes in the last 5 or 6 patch versions - can you please run the following SQL and post me the result

SELECT Data From ItemProperties WHERE ItemId = '1BF121C1-EFC4-4851-9407-D652D3B7C5BF' and RolePropertyId = '1E6F572A-EAB2-446D-826A-A55B4CE92963'

@g8rb8: Any error logs? In Windows Application Event Log? What have you done before? Was it working? New PC? Some more details....

None that I can find. I had the administrator turn on logging, then used SSMS to connect and look at the log table. There were no logs pertaining to me or my machine.
Yes, it worked last week. Same computer, although I removed and reinstalled in an effort to fix it. It also stopped working on my laptop with the same symptoms. It is the original working install.
The administrator can connect fine. He is local to the server. I am remote through a VPN. As stated I can connect to the SQL server and view the tables fine. Using Windows auth.
Connection test returns good in seconds.

Can you perhaps try to create a new database within ASG-RD? Perhaps you see more details if there are any permission problems
